The Raleigh Police Department's Animal Control Unit is hosting rabies and microchip clinics at a City park near you! Two clinics will be held in May and two will be held in September.

Rabies is a deadly virus that can spread to humans through the saliva of infected animals. Rabies is preventable with proper vaccinations. North Carolina General Statute 130A-185 mandates that pet dogs, cats, or ferrets older than four months must be vaccinated against rabies.
A microchip provides a permanent identification of your pet and greatly increases the chance that your pet will be returned if your furry friend becomes lost. The microchip, about the size of a grain of rice, is inserted just under the skin of your pet. Veterinary offices and animal shelters have the technology to scan lost pets for microchips, increasing the chance that your pet will be returned to you.
