New Updates to the Permit and Development Portal

Thank you for utilizing the City of Raleigh Permit and Development Portal

Beginning Friday, April 19 the Permit and Development Portal upgrade will offer users some new features. Users will receive emailed notifications along key milestones of their project. Our user guide has been revised to reflect these updates with the most significant ones found on page 15. See our online application guide to review the updates. 

Our goal is to improve our communication frequency with portal users and allow for a more streamlined back-end process. Other minor upgrades will be made, and you should refer to the online application guide for more information on what’s new to the interface.

What’s New??? 

Here’s a snapshot of one of the modifications you will now see when you’ve completed your submission:

NOTE: These changes will not affect existing projects, only new submissions for these permit types:

  • Residential Single-Family Dwelling
  • Residential Townhouse
  • Residential Addition
  • Residential Alteration
  • Residential Pool/Spa
  • Residential Deck/Porch
  • Residential Manufactured Homes
  • Residential Accessory Structure

Remember, permit applicants will always be notified by email when their project is processed. Standard review times are available to view online. Plan review comments can be viewed any time via a registered account in the Permit and Development Portal.
