Inaugurated in 2010, Block2 features films created by local video artists and community collaborations that relate to and expand upon the exhibitions and themes showcased at Block Gallery. Block2 is curated by Neill Prewitt and videos air daily from dusk to 3 a.m. in the window of Urban Design Center at 133 Fayetteville Street. All opening receptions are held at Block Gallery (222 West Hargett Street). The Block2 Street Video Series is sponsored by the City of Raleigh Arts Commission with support from Continental Graphics Co., Empire Properties, Urban Design Center and Raleigh's Department of City Planning.

Music for Teacups | David Colagiovanni and Melissa Haviland | April 12-May 21, 2012
Airing during Imprint
Opening reception: Thursday, April 12, 5-7 p.m.
"A china teacup falls from the sky, shatters on the ground, reconstitutes itself, breaks again, more slowly, then again, faster, then again and again, until a music emerges-or rather, is coerced-from breaking this teacup down, transforming it into sound and image, making it give of itself in a way it was never meant to. What is it about this obsessed-over, meticulously planned catastrophe? Mustn't we always, and vigilantly, put our manners, our beauty, our desires, our privilege to the test, and find what endures?"
- Neill Prewitt, Block2 Curator
