Art Awards

Raleigh Arts Commission

Last Modified: February 14, 2012
The Arts, by their very nature, celebrate who we are - as individuals, as communities, and as a nation. Spanning three decades, the Raleigh Arts Commission has offered numerous opportunities for Raleigh residents to enjoy and participate in a wide range of arts activities.

The Arts Commission offers three awards programs: Medal of Arts, Piedmont Laureate and Artist of Tomorrow.

Based on the National Medal of Arts program, Raleigh's Medal of Arts - the city's highest arts honor - recognizes extraordinary lifetime achievement in the practice or support of local arts.

Building a literary bridge and celebrating the art of writing, the Piedmont Laureate program has as its primary goal "to promote awareness and heighten appreciation for excellence in the literary arts throughout the Piedmont region."

The Artist of Tomorrow scholarship program provides one-time scholarships to high school seniors pursuing full-time higher educational study in the fields of Dance, Theatre/Musical Theatre, Literature, Music or Visual Arts.

Join us as we honor, support and celebrate our creative community!
