Anderson Point Park offers a variety of habitats for viewing wildlife. Bring the whole family to enjoy and relaxing day at the park.

The park offers four miles of walking trails, a playground next to an open field, and overlooks that provide spectacular scenic views.

The walking trails at Anderson Point allow for leisurely strolls or brisk walks. There are lots of paths throughout the park for visitors to use. The main walking trail inside of the park is approximately 3/4 of a mile.

Park Activities

Take in the scenic views from shore at one of the several lookouts or by boat. Anderson Point is conveniently situated halfway between two other launch sites on the City's canoe trail and the river offers many places to explore and enjoy. You can even venture up Crabtree Creek once you've reached the point. If you're not a boater, you can also enjoy the river by fishing, taking photos, or just sitting at the overlook taking in the scenery.

Park Programs

A variety of programs are offered year round for all ages and interests. The park is a great learning environment for curious children and interested adults! Programs range from nature and craft to holiday events.

Park Rentals

Anderson Point also features many picturesque areas available for rent. These spaces include the cottage and the outdoor areas consisting of the amphitheater, two shelters, and several open space areas. Please call Barwell Road Community Center at 919-329-5994 for more information or to schedule an appointment to view the interior of the cottage.

The park is open from dawn to dusk. Dusk changes throughout the year, so please contact staff for exact times.

The cottage may be rented from between the hours of 8am and 11pm.
