Fred Fletcher Park

Last Modified: December 05, 2011

Fred Fletcher Park is one of the older parks in the City of Raleigh. There are entrances to the park off of St. Mary's Street and Glenwood Avenue. The park is the former campus of the Methodist Home for Children and was purchased by the City in 1982.

Today the Parks and Recreation Department utilizes the two remaining buildings in the park. The Garris Building houses the Youth Programs Division. The Borden Building, renovated in 1992, is used as a rental space for weddings, receptions, meetings and small conferences. Fletcher Park has other amenities including a picnic shelter, small play area, an amphitheater, a softball field, a multi-purpose field, tennis courts and outdoor basketball courts.

For questions or to rent the Borden Building or Fletcher Amphitheater you may call 919-831-6851. The softball and multi-purpose fields may be reserved through our Athletics Department by calling 919-831-6836. To reserve the picnic shelter at Fletcher, contact Jaycee Community Center at 919-831-6833.
