Mordecai Historic Park | 919-857-4364

Mordecai Historic Park is home to some of Raleigh's greatest historic treasures including the Mordecai House ca. 1785 and the Birthplace of Andrew Johnson. Mordecai Historic Park offers tours, events, field trips, trolley tours, and much more.

Historic Raleigh Trolley | 919-857-4364

Historic Raleigh Trolley Tours depart from Mordecai Historic Park every Saturday in March through December. The trolley can also be rented for special events.

Pullen Park | 919-931-6468

Pullen Park was founded on March 22, 1887 by Richard Stanhope Pullen. Once farm land, Mr. Pullen donated the land as a gift to the City of Raleigh to be used as park land. He intended this land to be used for the recreation use and pleasure of the inhabitants and the visitors to the City of Raleigh. Through his visions, Pullen Park became the first public park in North Carolina. According to the census of the National Amusement Park Historical Association, Pullen Park is the fourteenth oldest amusement park in the world. The park now offers a variety of recreational opportunities for all ages, including amusement rides, swimming, a children's playground, picnic shelters, lighted tennis courts, classes, fitness programs, workshops, and art classes.

Chavis Park | 919-831-6989

During the Great Depression, measures were taken to improve recreation options for black citizens. Just east of downtown is Chavis Park, which was opened in the summer of 1938. Today, this community facility serves as a city-wide resource, beckoning residents with its rolling natural landscape and one of Raleigh's two antique carousels, this one designed by the Allan Herschell Company in the 1920s.

Borden Building at Fletcher Park | 919-831-6430

The Borden Building is one of two remaining buildings on the former campus of the Methodist Home for Children. Built in 1900, it was home to the superintendent of the orphanage and later served as home to hundreds of children. Purchased by the City of Raleigh in 1982, the house and its companion, Fred Fletcher Park, provides a wealth of history and tranquility in an urban setting. The Borden building was extensively renovated in 1992 and is presently available for weddings, receptions, meetings, and small conferences. Tucker House | 919-831-6009

Located in historic Oakwood this beautiful early twentieth-century home is available for weddings, receptions, and parties. The Neo-Classical Revival Tucker House was repaired after fire destroyed parts of it in the 1930s. Forty years later, it was preserved by moving it a full city block from its original location.
