The Office of Sustainability is offering a combined BPI Building Analyst and HERS Certification Course. The Building Analyst Course teaches the basic principles of building science to assess energy efficiency in a home while also monitoring conditions that have a direct impact on human safety and health. Participants will also learn how to use diagnostic equipment including the blower door to ensure that the home's systems are functioning correctly together and to maximize energy performance. There will also be an additional training component for HERS (Home Energy Rating System) at no charge. While the Analyst component trains for existing homes, HERS trains for new construction. Continuing education credit will be available to those who complete this course.
