The City of Raleigh's Office of Sustainability is continuing the Green Building Training Series this year. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, commonly referred to as the stimulus package. The Office of Sustainability will offer classes and certifications for a $25.00 refundable fee per class to construction professionals who live, work or do business within the City of Raleigh. All classes will be available on a first come-first serve basis.
The Green Building Training Series Program empowers small businesses with the knowledge and skills to market themselves in the growing green economy. The program also ensures that Raleigh has a skilled workforce trained in cutting-edge technologies, enabling the City and its residents to build greener, more energy efficient, and smarter.
The training classes are being offerred in partnership with Wake Technical Community College and the North Carolina Solar Center. The classes are posted on Green Building Training Series Schedule and include Solar Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal, Sustainable Landscaping, Green Plumbing, and Building Performance Institute/energy auditing.
