Public Affairs Department

The Public Affairs Department is responsible for developing and marketing information to the public and the media about City services, policies and procedures. The department also assists customers that call the information line with questions about City of Raleigh government.

Public Affairs manages the Raleigh Television Network (RTN); a state-of-the-art digital media center dedicated to serving the needs of Raleigh and Wake County through the operation of Public, Educational and Government (PEG) access channels.

The department is also responsible for fulfilling Public Records requests.

Mission Statement

The Public Affairs Department develops and markets information about City services to improve Raleigh's quality of life and to increase understanding and trust in City government.

The Print Services Division manages the production of printed materials under the City of Raleigh brand overseen by the Public Affairs Department. This division serves to expedite the design, purchase and delivery of well written communications to our residents.

Public Records

Public Records Requests

The City of Raleigh is pleased to respond to Public Records requests. Responses are governed by the North Carolina statute, specifically N.C. General Statutes, Chapter 132 and provisions of the North Carolina Records Retention and Disposition Schedule Issued by the NC Department of Cultural Resources (Government Records Branch of North Carolina). Submit written Public Record requests to Michael Williams.
