Unified Development Ordinance
The Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) is now the official development code for the City of Raleigh. Implementation of the UDO has resulted in a rewrite of the Development Services Guide. The Development Services site provides both homeowners and professional developers/builders information about submittal requirements, development review and permitting processes.

Street Design Manual
The Raleigh City Council held a public hearing on the Street Design Manual and Street Typology Map (updated 8.8.13) on July 16. To see an interactive comparison of the old map to the new map please go to http://maps.raleighnc.gov/StreetTypology/.
The street design manual is a rewrite of the current Street, Sidewalk and Driveway Access Handbook. The manual includes the new street cross sections found in the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) with specific design directions related to the engineering aspects of the street typologies. The street typology map applies all the new UDO street types to the City of Raleigh's existing thoroughfare and collector street map.

Zoning Petitions & Map
New Zoning Map: This draft map is currently being developed and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The map will then be released for public comment and review. Staff will revise the draft zoning map and forward to the Planning Commission for review, followed by City Council review, where a public hearing will be held and then the City Council will act on the revised rezoning map
All rezoning petitions must request a Unified Development Ordinance zoning district. Pre-application meetings are required.
