Eric J. Lamb, PE is the Transportation Planning Office Manager and is responsible for developing and administering the City's transportation plans. This includes the management of programs for bicycles, pedestrians, corridor planning, and transit planning. He is responsible for planning and programming all of the City's transportation projects, and his division coordinates with NCDOT on all Transportation Improvement Program projects in the City's jurisdiction. Eric works actively with planners, engineers, and citizens in coordinating multimodal improvements on all City street improvement projects. He serves as a staff liaison with the City's Passenger Rail Task Force and its Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission. He also oversees the activities and administration of the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO). Eric is currently a member of CAMPO's Technical Coordinating Committee and is the chair of its US 1 Council of Planning.
Eric holds a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master's of Civil Engineering from NC State University. He is registered as a professional Engineer in North Carolina, and is active with the North Carolina Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and its Transportation Planning Council. Prior to joining the City in 1999, Eric spent six years as a Transportation Engineer with the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
