Street Closures in Downtown Raleigh for a Water and Sewer Project
The intersection of East Martin Street and South Wilmington Street will be closed, with one lane open for local traffic only. The 100 block of South Wilmington Street will have a lane closure.
Work will take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, through Friday, April 10, with streets reopening each morning. Motorists are urged to follow posted signs, drive carefully through work zones, and consider alternate routes. The city thanks residents and visitors for their patience as crews make these important improvements.

South Blount Street will be reduced from two lanes to one between East Cabarrus Street and East Lenoir Street to redo an asphalt patch.
Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 10, with streets reopening after work is complete. Motorists are urged to follow posted signs, drive carefully through work zones and consider alternate routes. The city thanks residents and visitors for their patience as crews make these important improvements.
Blue Ridge Road South Construction
Please drive slowly through the construction site.
Construction crews are actively working on the Blue Ridge Road Widening South Project. There may be temporary lane closures during this work. Crews are scheduled to complete the project in Spring 2026.
For your safety, and that of the crews working on this project, drive cautiously through the construction zone. Please follow detours and signage, and expect delays. We appreciate your patience as we work to make Blue Ridge Road safer and more accessible for all users.

South Person Street will be closed between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and East Davie Street (300–800 blocks).
Intersections at East South Street, East Lenoir Street, and East Cabarrus Street will also be closed, so you’ll want to plan a different route. Expect some delays if you usually drive through this area.
