Temporary Street Closings

The following street closings due to schedule road races, parades, construction or other events. These activities will affect certain traffic patterns across Raleigh over the next several months.

Hargett Street closure

Hargett Street will be closed between West Street and Harrington Street beginning January 30.

Chamberlain Street

Chamberlain Street will be closed in two phases from Oct. 9 through Jan. 9 as part of a transmission main replacement project. The first phase will be from Everett Avenue to Stafford Avenue. The second phase will be from Stafford Avenue to Clark Avenue. As soon as the contractor finishes with the first phase, they will immediately begin on the second. The contractor will not have both sections closed at the same time.

Holden Street

Holden Street will be closed from Bloodworth Street to Elm Street from Oct. 2 until Nov. 10 as part of a water and sewer replacement project.

Food Truck Lunch Series

The City right-of-way off South Salisbury Street from West Davie Street to West Cabarrus Street will be closed from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 4 through Oct. 31.

October

October 21 Wake Bluff Drive between Wide River Drive and the end of the neighborhood before Stoneyridge Drive will be closed between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m.

October 21 Traffic will be affected near Dorothea Dix Park and Boylan Avenue from 5 a.m. to noon for a fundraising walk.

October 28 Dakins Court will be closed between Dahlgreen Road and the end of the cul-de-sac from 4 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

October 28 Bickett Boulevard will be closed between Dare Street and Aycock Street from 10 a.m. until 11:50 p.m.

October 28 Perry Street will be closed between Cherokee Drive and Dare Street from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m.

October 28 Cottonwood Circle between Sandlewood Drive and North Glenn Drive from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

October 28 Jeffries Street will be closed between Stockton Drive and Norman Place from noon until 6 p.m.

October 28 Traffic will be impacted near Walnut Creek Amphitheater from 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for a fundraiser.

October 28 Perry Street will be closed between Cherokee Drive and Dare Street from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. ]

October 28 Traffic will be impacted near Wilmington Street from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a road race. A map of the course is available online.

October 31 Traffic will be affected downtown from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. for a parade. The group will start at the North Carolina Museum of History and turn right on Jones Street, left on Blount Street and end at the Governor's Mansion.

October 31 White Oak Road will be closed between Glenwood Avenue and Sunset Drive from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

November

November 3 Traffic will be impacted near NC State for a parade from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The parade will start on Ferndell Lane, turn right on Pullen Road, exit on Hillsborough Street, turn left on Dan Allen Drive and complete on NC State property.

November 11 South Saunders Street will be closed between Hammell Drive and Grissom Street from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

November 23 Traffic will be affected by two road races near Wakefield from 7:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Maps of the course are available online.

November 23 Traffic will be affected near Ridgewood Shopping Center from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. for a road race. A map of the course is online.
