Council Member Crowder was born in District D, and has spent all of her life living in Raleigh’s District D.

Ms. Crowder enjoys the friendly and diverse neighborhood in which she has called home for more than 30 years. Her professional experiences includes sales, marketing, management, and finance. Ms. Crowder works to find areas on which she agrees with her community and her fellow councilors and builds bridges to create positive solutions that benefit the citizens of Raleigh. She has a particular interest in promoting more residential development that includes a mix of workforce and market-rate housing.

In addition to her career accomplishments, she has always been active in the community. She participated in the first Raleigh Neighborhood College and previously served as a corporate mentor for Junior Achievement, president of the Avent West Neighborhood Association, and president of the A.B. Combs Elementary School PTA. She has volunteered with Special Olympics for over 20 years.

Since her appointment in 2014 to the Raleigh City Council, she has served as a member of the Comprehensive Planning Committee and the Budget and Economic Development Committee. She also serves on the Triangle J Council of Governments.
