The City of Oaks Foundation, a nonprofit

aligned with the Depar tment of Parks,

Recreation and Cultural Resources, is making

it possible for more children and teens to

par ticipate in outdoor, nature-based programs

and summer camps.

The foundation’s Give Play initiative provides

need-based scholarships for youth ages 7-17 to

attend a week of summer camp free of charge!

As of press time,

85

full scholarships had been

awarded for summer 2015.

The foundation:

• Raised

$25,000

for youth development

from the Duke Energy Foundation, with a

por tion going toward Give Play.

• Co-hosted the annual open garden day

on April 4 at Joslin garden with the Joslin

family and the Parks, Recreation and

Cultural Resources Depar tment.

• Par ticipated in Indy Week’s Give!Guide

2014, which helps fund and promote local

nonprofits. The foundation raised

$7,000

through this program.
