Current Activity

Due to unexpected site conditions discovered near the end of final design, the playground site has been relocated. Staff is currently working through final design and will begin construction during the Spring of 2018.

Summary

Each year funding is earmarked for the renovation of playgrounds throughout the city, and Optimist Park has been identified as the next priority project. A group of six volunteers representing the neighborhood has volunteered to assist in the design of the playground. Stewart Design is the landscape architecture consulting firm for the project.

History

Optimist Park was built in 1973 and much of the existing playground equipment is original.
