Teen X-Treme Summer Camp

Teen X-treme is a high quality summer camp program camp specifically designed  for teenagers. This program leads teens through a broad curriculum of socially interactive experiences that include indoor and outdoor activities, athletics, arts and crafts, teambuilding, off site trips, and other fun activities. New for summer 2017, field trips will include three off-site trips including one pool trip. Participants should bring a lunch and two snacks each day. Peach Rd Community Center and Eastgate Park will have a strong concentration on outdoor activities.

Program Hours

All sites operate from 7:30am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday, except July 4.

This camp is offered at Abbotts CreekBiltmore Hills, EastgateMarsh Creek, Peach Road and Saint Monica Teen Center.

All Access Sports

This is your all access pass to the sports management industry with behind the scenes tours of various sports complexes around the area along with guest speakers. Past tours have included college facilities, Lowe's Motor Speedway, the PNC Arena, and Five County Stadium to name a few. There will also be friendly sports competitions between campers.

Age: 12-14

Cost: $175 Resident, $190 Non-resident

Campus Cruisin'

A week-long career and self-exploration program designed to assist students in gaining a greater awareness of institutions of higher education in North Carolina. Personal interest surveys, enhancing your resume, and campus tours to many of North Carolina's private and public campuses, including technical schools, are coupled with new friendships and a college atmosphere. This is a great chance for students to find a school that will prepare them for their future career!

Age: 14-17

Cost: $175 Resident, $190 Non-resident

Counselor in Training

Counselor In Training

A camp in which participants will access information, training, and experiences to prepare them for future counselor and junior counselor positions. Portable challenge, role-playing, training, teambuilding, and hands on application will highlight a week of fun and personal growth. A higher level of maturity is a must for participants. Registrants who successfully complete the week's camp activities will be required to volunteer with one of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department's Summer Camps, for an additional 2 weeks (80 hours), to successfully complete the program. The entire program is a 3 week commitment. Participants must be 14-16 years old by the start of camp to participate in this program.

Step It Up!

Stepping or step-dance is a form of percussive dance in which the participant's entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps. Participants in this camp will learn step routines and learn the elements of stepping which are drawn from gymnastics, break dance, tap dance, march or African and Caribbean dance. Campers will take field trips to dance studios and learn more about the elements of different dance styles that contribute to the step dance art form. At the end of the week campers will perform a step show while incorporating character development through the use of positive messages and spoken word.

Student Police Academy

Student Police Academy

This camp provides youth with an opportunity to learn about the challenges and opportunities within law enforcement and the Raleigh Police Department. Under the leadership of police officers, participants will receive an overview of law enforcement through classroom training, physical fitness activities, hands on activities such as crime scene investigation, and relevant field trips into the courtroom, county jail, and CCBI Crime Lab.  This camp is designed to simulate a police academy with physical fitness exercises and classroom work being some of the core components of the program.

Teen Corps

Teen Corps

Attention teens! Need to fill some community service requirements for high school? Teen Corps will provide an opportunity to serve the community while you have fun and develop as a leader. The beginning of the week will focus on team building and leadership development to prepare for the service ahead. Service opportunities will be both fun and challenging. There will be a special reward at the end of the week to celebrate the experience.

Teen X-Scape

Teen X-Scape provides a daily offsite field trip along with a structured recreation program designed for teens while promoting social interaction. Participants will engage in recreational games, teambuilding, arts & crafts and other fun activities in both indoor and outdoor settings. Computer time will be offered in addition to the other activities.

Age: 12-15

Cost: $125 Resident, $1140 Non-resident

Session 1: August 14-18
