CALL FOR DESIGNERS – SIR WALTER RALEIGH AWARDS CERTIFICATE

The Raleigh Appearance Commission invites Raleigh’s designers to create original designs for the award certificate for the 34th Annual Sir Walter Raleigh Awards. The original certificate was designed over 10 years ago and the Commission, who produces the Sir Walter Raleigh Awards each year, plans to introduce a new certificate design to be presented to award winners at this year’s event.

The winning designer will be awarded a $1,000 honorarium and receive recognition at the Sir Walter Raleigh Awards ceremony on September 7, 2016.

The Raleigh Appearance Commission will manage the application and review process. A jury comprised of members from the Raleigh Appearance Commission, the Raleigh Arts Commission, and the Raleigh Urban Design Center will review the submissions and select the top three designs. The top three designs will then be presented to the full Raleigh Appearance Commission to select the winning design.

Deadline for submissions is July 18, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.

The Commission also appoints standing committees to undertake special design-related outreach and education efforts such as the Sir Walter Raleigh Awards.
