7 years of experience, with at least 3 years of experience in managing multiple, medium to large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders. Bachelor's Degree in a related field; Masters degree preferred. Experience in areas such as network design and administration, data center operations, database administration, and systems programming, administration and customer service. Strong organizational, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. Must have meticulous attention to detail and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment.
This is an opportunity for an experienced thought-leader to assume responsibility for providing the strategic direction for the infrastructure and support functions on an enterprise level. The IT Executive Manager for Infrastructure and Operations reports to the Chief Technology Officer and interfaces with city department executives and other IT division executives to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness. There will be three focus areas for the selected candidate: management of the infrastructure for reliability and long-term growth, excellent customer service for internal and external customers, and defining a strategy for the city's externally-facing IT infrastructure (primarily the city's fiber assets and metropolitan area network). Leads the development of infrastructure strategy, architecture, service delivery standards and procedures for the enterprise - supporting the city's delivery of IT services through servers, data centers, networks, databases, storage, email, directory services and other technology platforms; analyzes and predicts trends and develops long-range plan designed to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness of the enterprise's IT infrastructure; participate in IT strategy planning activities, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of infrastructure technology and systems and best practices (i.e. ITIL) as related to the needs of the business; proactively researches and recommends courses of action to prevent problems and to maintain high infrastructure service levels for the user community; establishes metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT service delivery; establishes a customer service strategy that enables customers to productively and innovatively use IT services.
