3 years of relevant experience. HS Diploma; Associate's Degree in a relevant area is preferred.
Provides specialized support for Risk Management by handling the internal claims process for Workers Compensation claims. Processes internal claims by providing information on procedures for filing either workers' compensation or general liability/auto liability claims, receiving completed claim forms and forwarding to third party administrator, providing relevant information to the third party administrator, and maintaining internal logs developed to track such claims. Serves as liaison between the City's third party claims administrator and its departments, divisions, employees, citizens, vendors, and other party's claims adjusters including attorney requests related to wages and lost time. Maintains records of time off during the statutory waiting period for all lost time workers' compensation claims, including tracking of time on light or transitional duty and adjusts records to assure accuracy of compliance documents. Prepares and keeps accurate records for completion of OSHA Form 300 Log. Prepares ad hoc risk management financial reports and analyses. Completes special projects as assigned and provides back-up support for the Risk Manager. Provides clerical assistance for the division as needed, including answering telephones, servicing walk-in clients, responding to written requests, processing mail, and preparing requisitions.
