Minimum Requirements

2 years of relevant experience, supplemented by an apprenticeship or training in electrical field. A Valid NC Class "C" Driver's License.

Position Duties

Performs technical skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation at the water plants, elevated tanks, and booster stations. Maintains and troubleshoots electrical/electronic systems and control devices at their water/wastewater treatment plant. Installs, calibrates tests, cleans, and repairs instruments, controls, and meeting devices, such as magnetic, pneumatic, or hydraulic flow meters, differential pressure or electronic transmitters and receives. Services and operates a verity of radio repair and electrical tools. Assists with operating and maintaining PLC, SCADA systems within the plants or outside stations. Monitors motors, starters, controllers, etc. through computer software. Installs new equipment, conduit, wiring, devices, and instrumentation controls as approved by supervisor. Tests radio receiving and transmitting equipment for proper frequency. Performs periodic calibration and observation checks of meters, chart recorders, and laboratory equipment. Maintains electronic control valves, circuit boards, motor control centers, pumps, motors, and complex instrumentation systems. Calibrates, cleans, and maintains ozone detectors and oxygen monitors. Maintains, calibrates, and adjusts the electronic motors that operate the actuator valves. Performs preventative maintenance on all electrical, pneumatic, and electronic equipment. Assists in preparation of related technical equipment specifications. Maintains an inventory of spare parts on hand; orders and tests new equipment, materials, and repairs parts.
