Minimum Requirements
4 years of experience in swimming pool management, preferably supplemented by experience in an organized community recreation program. Bachelor's degree in recreation administration, or physical education. Certification in Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescuer and the ability to obtain a CPO certification. Certification as a Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Training Instructor preferred. A Valid NC Class "C" Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Position Duties
Directs and supervises the activities of a City aquatic center. Plans, organizes, supervises, and participates in a variety of activities at a City swimming pool. Plans, organizes, directs, and instructs diversified age groups including disabled and elderly. Supervises swimming instructors, lifeguards, custodians, and other staff at the facility as well as organizes work assignments. Renders first aid and administers CPR when necessary in an emergency. Prepares activity, attendance, and other reports; selects and trains personnel, prepares payroll; assists in the preparation of budget and performs any other essential duties as necessary.
