Use Caution on Greenways
Please use caution on the greenway trails along Shelley Lake, Crabtree Creek and Walnut Creek due to high water and slippery conditions.
Marsh Creek Playground Closed for Repairs
Marsh Creek playground will be closed for repair from Friday, November 21 through Monday, November 24. Regular playground hours are expected to resume Tuesday, November 25. For additional questions, contact Marsh Creek Community Center, 919-996-4920.
Worthdale Community Center Closed for Improvements
Worthdale Community Center is closed for center improvements. The anticipated reopening will be in late March 2015.
Horseshoe Farm Nature Preserve Closed for Construction
Horseshoe Farm Nature Preserve will be closed beginning August 18, 2014 through March 2015 while Phase 1 renovations to the park and access road are being made. Neuse River Trail access to and from the park be will also be closed during this time. There are several available parking lots for access to the Neuse River Trail between Horseshoe Farm Park and Buffaloe Road Athletic Park including lots at - 200 Trailhead Lane, 4901 Elizabeth Dr and 5812 Buffaloe Rd (Buffalo Road Athletic Park).
Phase 1 construction will include the paving of Horse Shoe Farm Road, paved trail connection from the park to the Neuse River Trail, restrooms, picnic shelter and interior interpretive walking trails.
Lake Levels - Normal
Boat Ramps Open
Attention Boaters Lake Wheeler water levels have returned to normal levels. All ramps are open for boat launches. For more information or the most up to date status please contact Lake Wheeler Park 919-662-5704.
Kaplan Drive Park Footbridge Closed
A footbridge along a walking trail in Kaplan Drive Park sustained damage from a fallen tree and had to be removed. Please use caution in this area - it will remain blocked until the bridge is replaced.
