Pullen Aquatic Center Closed for Holiday Express

Please note Pullen Aquatic Center will be closing at 4pm for Holiday Express on the following dates 12/5 and 12/7 - 12/11.

Pullen Park Amusements - Holiday Express Dec 4th Postponed to Dec. 5th due to inclement weather

Due to unfavorable weather conditions and their effect on the safe operations of attractions last night, Holiday Express for Dec. 4th was moved to today, Monday Dec. 5th. Guests holding Sunday, December 4th Holiday Express tickets are offered the opportunity to attend an event rain date today. Guests may only attend this rain date and tickets will not be honored on any other event night.

For Sunday December 4th tickets holders:

If you have already picked up your armbands:

You will be able to enter directly into the event on Monday, December 5th. All train times will remain the same as listed on your tickets from 12/4.

If you have not already picked up your armbands:

Please visit the will call table upon arrival on Monday, December 5th to obtain your event armbands. All train times will remain the same as listed on your tickets from 12/4.

Refund Policy

If you are unable to attend the rain date of Monday December 5th and would like to request a refund; you must send a written refund request to Pullen.Reservations@raleighnc.gov (please state the reason for your request). Your request must be received on or before December 23rd, 2016. For guests who have already picked up their armbands and tickets, these must be returned to the Pullen Main Office prior to refunds being processed.

Pullen Park Amusements is open Monday –Sunday 10am-6pm with the following exceptions:

  • Thursday November 24 – Closed in observance of Thanksgiving
  • Thursday – Sunday Dec. 1-4 – Closed for Holiday Express
  • Monday - Dec. 5th - Closed for Holiday Express Rain Date
  • Wednesday – Sunday Dec. 7-11 – Closed for Holiday Express
  • Saturday & Sunday Dec.24-25 – Closed in observance of Christmas
  • Sunday Jan.1 – Closed in observance of New Year’s Day

*Pedal Boats are closed for the season and will reopen in March 2017.

*The train closing time will vary based on the sunset.

Several Greenway trails and River Access Launch sites are closed due to unsafe conditions.

Jaycee Park Improvements

Jaycee Park Re-Paving Project
Work will begin Monday, September 26, 2016 on a re-paving project at Jaycee Park. Phase one work will involve the demolition and re-paving of the parking lot in front of the Frank Evans building. Phase two will involve demolition and re-paving of the service road between Frank Evans Administration Office and the Jaycee Softball Field #1. All offices will remain open. City of Raleigh Recycling Station will be located temporarily near Jaycee Field #3 with access from Tower St. Limited parking will remain available in front of Jaycee Center and additional parking is available at the volleyball and tennis courts. We expect the project to be completed and open for use by February 2017.

Jaycee Park Dog Run
Work will begin Monday, September 26, 2016 on the construction of the City’s new off leash dog facility at Jaycee Park. Initial work will involve the demolition of the old comfort station/picnic shelter structure and initial site clearing. Installation of fencing, concrete entrance, connecting sidewalk, signage and surfacing will follow. We expect the facility to be completed and opened for use by early Spring, 2017.

Greenway Repairs and Closures

As greenways trails and structures age, maintenance and repairs are necessary. Due to the nature of this work, the trails will occasionally need to be closed to complete this work in an safe and efficient manner.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Gardens Expansion

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Gardens will be closed from January 2016 through early Fall 2016 for construction during the expansion project and is expected to re-open in February 2017.
