Multi-purpose Fields Unavailable

The following multi-purpose fields are unavailable due to renovations this summer:

The multi-purpose field at Halifax Park is closed through August 1.

The multi-purpose field at John Chavis Memorial Park is closed through August 5.

The multi-purpose field at Method Road Park is closed through September 1.

The multi-purpose field at Williams Park is closed through September 30.

The multi-purpose field #2 at Kiwanis Park is closed through March 1, 2016.

Horseshoe Farm Nature Preserve Closed for Construction

Horseshoe Farm Nature Preserve will be closed beginning August 18, 2014 through mid-August 2015 while Phase 1 renovations to the park and access road are being made. Neuse River Trail access to and from the park be will also be closed during this time. There are several available parking lots for access to the Neuse River Trail between Horseshoe Farm Park and Buffaloe Road Athletic Park including lots at - 200 Trailhead Lane, 4901 Elizabeth Dr and 5812 Buffaloe Rd (Buffalo Road Athletic Park).

Phase 1 construction will include the paving of Horse Shoe Farm Road, paved trail connection from the park to the Neuse River Trail, restrooms, picnic shelter and interior interpretive walking trails.

Leesville Playground Closed for Improvements

Leesville playground will be closed on 8/3/15 and will remain closed for the month of August for playground improvements.

Boat Ramps Open

Attention Boaters Lake Wheeler water levels have returned to normal levels. All ramps are open for boat launches. For more information or the most up to date status please contact Lake Wheeler Park 919-662-5704.

Kaplan Drive Park Footbridge Closed

A footbridge along a walking trail in Kaplan Drive Park sustained damage from a fallen tree and had to be removed. Please use caution in this area - it will remain blocked until the bridge is replaced.
