Current Activity

The design plans for this stream bank repair project are currently under review by the City's Development Services Department. Following plan review, the environmental permitting process will take place.

Summary

The primary goal of this project is to repair areas of the stream running alongside Longview Lake Drive that is eroded. About 400 feet of the stream is affected starting at New Bern Avenue. To stabilize the stream, the repair will include:

  • Vegetative stabilization of lowered slopes above the normal flow line of the creek;
  • Extending an existing stormwater pipe that goes to the creek in order to prevent erosion in the future; and
  • Protecting the outfall of the stream.
