The City of Raleigh’s Solid Waste Services Department along with Republic Services and Waste Industries will host the NC Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America’s (SWANA) Annual Equipment Truck ROAD-E-O May 19-20. Landfill equipment operators will compete at the Yard Waste Center and Truck Drivers will compete at the Wilders Grove Facility.

Developed by SWANA as a way of recognizing and promoting professionalism, contestants representing public and private waste collection agencies compete for top driving, operating, and mechanical honors.

Drivers are required to maneuver trucks through a preset course, and mechanics are tested in areas of troubleshooting and diagnostics. All categories are judged on accuracy and time.

NC SWANA Road-E-O winners receive trophies, cash awards, and recognition as being the best of the best in North Carolina! First and second place winners will be eligible to compete in the SWANA International Road-E-O to be held in Orlando, Florida October 27, 2017.

The Awards Ceremony and Banquet will be held at 7p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Road-E-O Headquarters, Embassy Suites Hotel in Cary, North Carolina.
