Raleigh Names Chief Financial Officer
Allison E. Bradsher has been appointed chief financial officer for the City of Raleigh, City Manager Ruffin Hall announced today. Currently serving as assistant financial officer, Mrs. Bradsher will assume her new duties on Saturday, April 1.
The services of the City’s Finance Department include treasury functions, accounting, purchasing, revenue management, payroll, financial reporting and risk management. The City of Raleigh has consistently received high ratings from the nation’s three major bond credit rating agencies.
“Allison will continue the excellent financial stewardship that Raleigh has long enjoyed,” Mr. Hall said. “She has extensive knowledge and experience in strategic financial management and planning. Furthermore, she is quite familiar with the City’s goals and operations.”
A native of Raleigh, Mrs. Bradsher first joined the City in 2009 as assistant controller. She was later elevated to controller before assuming the role of assistant financial officer. Prior to joining the City, Mrs. Bradsher served in finance and accounting management roles at Lenovo and IBM.
“I am honored to be entrusted with the role of chief financial officer for our premier city,” Mrs. Bradsher said. “I look forward to making sure the Finance Department continues to serve the community with integrity and strong fiscal management.”
A certified public accountant, Mrs. Bradsher has received a master’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a municipal administration graduate from UNC’s School of Government, where she was named a Leading for Results Fellow in 2013.
Mrs. Bradsher and her husband, Steve, have two daughters, Emory and Kennedy.
