Traffic Alert: City to Close Section of Oakwood Avenue for Infrastructure Project

Oakwood Avenue from Hill Street to Raleigh Boulevard will be closed for approximately four months for infrastructure replacement. The closing is scheduled to begin on March 27 at 12:01 a.m. and continues until July 25 at 11:59 p.m.

The City of Raleigh is installing new infrastructure, including water and sewer systems and sidewalks, in an area bounded by Oakwood Avenue, Hill Street, Raleigh Boulevard and New Bern Avenue. The infrastructure will support a new infill residential development consisting of 98 single-family houses and 51 townhouses. The City owns 28 acres of vacant land at the site.
