Raleigh Businesses Offer Robust Support For Bluegrass Street Festival Sept. 27-28
Every imaginable size and type of Raleigh business has stepped-up to make the Wide Open Bluegrass Streetfest a one-of-a-kind, great time that is free for all.
The Wide Open Bluegrass Streetfest would not be possible without these generous supporters: The street festival’s presenting sponsor is PNC Bank. “All stages” sponsorships come from R.A. Jeffreys: Big Boss on the Martin Street stage, Bud Light on the City Plaza stage, and Lone Rider on the Hargett Street stage.
Rex Health Care and UNC Health Care are presenting the Get Moving Dance Tent and the Get Moving Sports Zone. Red Hat is the sponsor for the hospitality tent.
Curtis Media has signed on to sponsor the Hargett Street stage and KIX 102.9 the Kids’ Stage. On Sept. 22, The News & Observer is running a special bluegrass print guide. Our State magazine is sponsoring the Got to Be NC pavilion, VisitNC the Hargett Street stage, WRAL the City Plaza stage and Get Moving Dance Tent, and WTVD ABC-11 the Got to Be NC pavilion and the North Carolina Whole Hog Barbecue State Championship.
Other invaluable supporters are: the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, Martin Guitars, NC Railroad, Clarion Raleigh, Marriott City Center, Sheraton Raleigh as well as the City of Raleigh, Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau and PineCone: Piedmont Council of Traditional Music.
The Wide Open Bluegrass Streetfest, part of World of Bluegrass 2013, is brought to you by a collaboration of the City of Raleigh, the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), PineCone, and the Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau. The complete Streetfest schedule is available on wideopenbluegrass.com.
World of Bluegrass 2013 is a five-day event that consists of three main parts: the IBMA Business Conference, which runs Tuesday through Thursday, Sept. 24-26, the 24th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards, scheduled for Thursday evening, Sept. 26, and the music festival – newly named Wide Open Bluegrass – which takes place Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28.
IBMA – the International Bluegrass Music Association – is the professional trade organization for the global bluegrass music community. The organization’s three-year stay in Raleigh is the result of a partnership with The Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau, PineCone—The Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, the City of Raleigh and a local organizing committee.
