Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Volunteer Program
Join Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department's Volunteer Program. You are invited to make a difference in your community by volunteering for a park project, athletic team, special event or Adopt-A-Park program. There are many opportunities for individuals, groups, students and businesses to contribute to our quality programs and facilities. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Come aboard and volunteer for one of the biggest events of the year, The Holiday Express.
Volunteers will be needed at Pullen Park on December 13-15 from 4:00-8:00pm to assist with welcoming and assisting participants at the activity stations. Volunteers must be 15 and up.

Frostbite Doubles Tennis Tournament
Volunteers are needed December 13-15 for the annual Frostbite Doubles Tennis Tournament at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center.
Responsibilities include: player registration, assigning matches and recording match scores, entering scores to brackets, monitoring the 10U matches, managing the hospitality room, and tournament cleanup. *Tennis knowledge is required to sign up for the Tournament Desk position.
Volunteers must be 15 and up.

Durant Nature Preserve
Participate in three park beautification volunteer opportunities at Durant Nature Preserve!
Park Beautification Volunteer
Help us remove invasive plants, weeds, or gardens or spread mulch. Meet by Park office at North entrance. Bring a water bottle, wear closed toed shoes and clothes that will get dirty. Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Help keep the educational gardens looking nice by weeding, mulching, and planting new plants. Volunteers will be needed to upkeep gardens throughout the year.

Bluebird Box Monitor
Help monitor the preserve’s Bluebirds! Volunteers come once a week during nesting season to inspect and monitor thirteen Bluebird boxes and record data. Training will be provided by Park Staff.

Businesses, schools, churches and organizations have the opportunity to contribute time, talent and resources to City Parks. Contact Cindy Trumbower at 919-996-3292 to set up a volunteer event unique for your group.
Adopt A Park
The Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Adopt-A-Park Program is always looking for new volunteers and groups to enhance city parks and trails.
The citizen volunteer or group agrees to maintain the designated park, trail or open space quarterly for at least one year. The volunteer or group of volunteers is asked to sign an Adopt-A-Park agreement. This agreement is renewed on a yearly basis.
