Funding requests are due by February 15
The City of Raleigh offers a Stormwater Quality Cost Share Program to provide homeowners, businesses, and public or government agencies with funding assistance to install projects that will improve the quality of stormwater runoff on their property. This program is solely funded by the stormwater utility fee.
Petitioners can request funding assistance for all elements of the project including design and permitting fees as well as labor and material costs for installation.
Examples of projects considered as improvements to the water quality of Raleigh's streams and lakes include:
- Cisterns
- Rain gardens and bioretention devices
- Green roofs
- Underground Infiltration devices
- Permeable pavement
Petitioners must meet specific criteria to be eligible for funding assistance and all petitions are reviewed by the Stormwater Management Advisory Commission and the City Council.
The next review date by the Stormwater Management Advisory Commission is Thursday, March 7 and all petitions should be submitted to the Stormwater Utility Division by Friday, February 15.
Funding requests are reviewed by the Stormwater Management Advisory Commission and the City Council four times each year. After the March review, the next set of funding requests will be accepted in May and reviewed in June.
