Holiday Express

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department has determined that based on the current weather conditions and the forecast for tonight, Holiday Express for Friday Dec. 8th has been rescheduled to ensure the best possible experience for our guests.

Patrons who have purchased tickets for today’s Holiday Express are invited to the scheduled raindate on Monday, Dec. 11.

Original tickets from Friday’s event will be valid for Monday’s event. In addition, a new event will be created on Eventbrite for Monday night in which refunded tickets will be resold to guests wishing to attend.

If guests are unable to attend the raindate, refund requests must be submitted in writing and should be sent to holiday.express@raleighnc.gov. Refund requests must be received by Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 12pm.

Lake Johnson - Lake Wheeler Waterfront Operations

Lake Wheeler - Water Levels Low, Boat Ramps and Motorize Boat Docks Closed

Attention Boaters: Lake Wheeler water levels are extremely low. All ramps/motorized boat docks are closed for trailer boat launches. Car top and small vessels can launch from beach area. Lake levels have dropped more than three feet. We anticipate low water levels until we receive significant rain fall . Lake Johnson Waterfront - Personal Launches Open, Rental Boats Closed for Season

Lake Johnson waterfront operations are operating as normal. Although our boat rental season concluded at the end of October, personal launches are permitted during operational hours year round (please pay your personal launch fee at the park office). The boathouse is closed on Mondays from October through April. Our rental boat season will start again at the beginning of April.

Greenway Repairs and Closures

As greenways trails and structures age, maintenance and repairs are necessary. Due to the nature of this work, the trails will occasionally need to be closed to complete this work in an safe and efficient manner.
