Registration Unavailable January 21 at 3 pm- January 22 at 10 am

We will be upgrading software that processes program registrations, payments, facility reservations, point of sale, and online registrations (RecLink). These services will be unavailable from Wednesday, January 21, 2015 (3pm) until Thursday, January 22, 2015 (10am).

Pullen Park

The carousel is closed for maintenance until February 3. The train is closed for maintenance January 20 - February 3. The train will be open on weekends only during this period. The maintenance schedule is subject to change based on the detail of work required. Please call 919-996-6468 for assistance or questions regarding these closures.

Also, at this time, our accessible car is currently unavailable, and we apologize for any inconvenience. In the interim, the train will continue to operate; however, patrons with assistive mobility devices who wish to ride the train may do so, but will need to be able to transfer into a regular train car. Worthdale Community Center Closed for Improvements

Worthdale Community Center is closed for center improvements. The anticipated reopening will be in late March 2015.

Horseshoe Farm Nature Preserve Closed for Construction

Horseshoe Farm Nature Preserve will be closed beginning August 18, 2014 through March 2015 while Phase 1 renovations to the park and access road are being made. Neuse River Trail access to and from the park be will also be closed during this time. There are several available parking lots for access to the Neuse River Trail between Horseshoe Farm Park and Buffaloe Road Athletic Park including lots at - 200 Trailhead Lane, 4901 Elizabeth Dr and 5812 Buffaloe Rd (Buffalo Road Athletic Park).

Phase 1 construction will include the paving of Horse Shoe Farm Road, paved trail connection from the park to the Neuse River Trail, restrooms, picnic shelter and interior interpretive walking trails.

Boat Ramps Open

Attention Boaters Lake Wheeler water levels have returned to normal levels. All ramps are open for boat launches. For more information or the most up to date status please contact Lake Wheeler Park 919-662-5704.

Kaplan Drive Park Footbridge Closed

A footbridge along a walking trail in Kaplan Drive Park sustained damage from a fallen tree and had to be removed. Please use caution in this area - it will remain blocked until the bridge is replaced.
