Teen X-Treme Summer Camp

Teen X-Treme Summer Camp provides a structured recreation curriculum designed for teens ages 12-14. Campers will get a chance to participate in activities ranging from arts and crafts, sports competitions, two field trips each week, recreational games, teambuilding, and much more! Registration starts February 2.

Program Details

Field trips will include a trip to the pool and an off site field trip per session. Teens are expected to bring two snacks and a lunch daily.

Program Hours

All sites operate from 7:30am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday, except July 3.

Program Locations

This camp is offered at Biltmore Hills, Lions Park, Marsh Creek, North Raleigh Christian Academy and Ravenscroft School.

All Access Sports

This is your all access pass to the sports management industry with behind the scenes tours of various sports complexes around the area along with guest speakers. Past tours have included college facilities, Lowe's Motor Speedway, the PNC Arena, and Five County Stadium to name a few. There will also be friendly sports competitions between campers.

Campus Cruisin'

A week-long career and self-exploration program designed to assist students in gaining a greater awareness of institutions of higher education in North Carolina. Personal interest surveys, enhancing your resume, and campus tours to many of North Carolina's private and public campuses, including technical schools, are coupled with new friendships and a college atmosphere. This is a great chance for students to find a school that will prepare them for their future career!

Age: 14-17

Cost: $160 Resident, $175 Non-resident

Counselor in Training

Counselor In Training

A camp in which participants will access information, training, and experiences to prepare them for future counselor and junior counselor positions. Portable challenge, role-playing, training, teambuilding, and hands on application will highlight a week of fun and personal growth. A higher level of maturity is a must for participants. Registrants who successfully complete the week's camp activities will be required to volunteer with one of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department's Summer Camps, for an additional 2 weeks (80 hours), to successfully complete the program. The entire program is a 3 week commitment. Participants must be 14-16 years old by the start of camp to participate in this program.

Student Police Academy

Student Police Academy

This camp provides youth with an opportunity to learn about the challenges and opportunities within law enforcement and the Raleigh Police Department. Under the leadership of police officers, participants will receive an overview of law enforcement through classroom training, physical fitness activities, hands on activities such as crime scene investigation, and relevant field trips into the courtroom, county jail, and CCBI Crime Lab. This camp is designed to simulate a police academy with physical fitness exercises and classroom work being some of the core components of the program.

Teen Corps

Teen Corps

This week long service camp is a perfect opportunity for teens looking to fill community service requirements for school and have a great time too! The beginning of the week will focus on teambuilding and leadership development to prepare the Teen Corps for the service ahead. Service opportunities will focus on rewarding activities that will be both fun and challenging. Following the activities, the Teen Corps will debrief and maximize the personal benefits for the participants. Service opportunities will focus on rewarding and diverse activities that will be both fun and challenging. As a reward, the Corps will take a surprise trip on Friday to celebrate their experience.

Traveling the Triangle

Looking for something exciting to do now that school is out? Teens Traveling the Triangle will provide just that! This program provides an opportunity for middle school teens to experience a few of the diverse attractions that the Triangle has to offer. At least 2 field trips will occur each day. Examples of possible field trips include local parks and museums, arcades, facility tours of local sports arenas, bowling and much more!

June 9-12

Teen X-Scape

Teen X-Scape provides a daily offsite field trip along with a structured recreation program designed for teens while promoting social interaction. Participants will engage in recreational games, teambuilding, arts & crafts and other fun activities in both indoor and outdoor settings. Computer time will be offered in addition to the other activities.

Location: Saint Monica Teen Center

Youth Fire Academy

Youth Fire Academy

During this week long camp, lead by City of Raleigh Firefighters, participants will visit local fire stations to learn about fire fighting and see just how tough the job can be. Classroom and physical challenge activities will include first aid, fire behavior, fire inspections and code enforcement, fire prevention, investigations, and thermal imaging camera demos. Take this amazing opportunity to play with the tools and equipment used by actual firefighters and see if you have what it takes! Summer does not get much hotter than this!
