  • Abbotts Creek Community Center is a newly opened, 26,000 square foot facility and park with two multipurpose fields at the borrow site south of the North Wake Landfill Park in northeast Raleigh. The project is a joint venture with Wake County Government and Wake County Public School System. The two story community center houses a gymnasium with a real wood floor, fitness room, multipurpose classrooms, a fitness studio, lockers and dressing rooms, and office areas. Anticipated programming includes traditional recreation program as well as a focus on healthy living and fitness oriented classes. The building was designed with sustainable features to obtain a Silver LEED certification based on the US Green Building Council.
