Give Play is an initiative supported by the City of Oaks Foundation and the City of Raleigh Parks Recreation and Cultural Resources Department. The initiative’s goal is to remove cost as a barrier for getting children and teens engaged in park programs. Children and teens ages 7-14 are invited to apply for scholarships to attend nature and outdoor themed summer camps at locations around the city, including Durant Nature Preserve, Method Road Community Center, Sgt Courtney T Johnson Neighborhood Center, and Walnut Creek Wetland Center.

How to Apply

Scholarships will be awarded first to applications received by February 28, then to applications received by April 11. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need of applicant, availability of funds, and/or availability of spaces in eligible camps. Completed applications can be emailed to Give.Play@raleighnc.gov or mailed or dropped off at either of the below locations:

• Pullen Arts Center, Attn: Give Play, 105 Pullen Rd, Raleigh, NC 27607

• Frank Evans Building, Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, Attn: Give Play, 2401 Wade Ave, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Campers who are awarded scholarships will not be charged for camp, however, there is a $10 deposit required, which will be refunded upon completion of the camp week.
