Limiting usage of City of Raleigh athletic fields has become an essential variable to be considered in the long-term maintenance and playability of athletic spaces. Use and overuse of fields during the winter season when fields stay perpetually wet or worse yet have a daily freeze/thaw status is having a lasting impact on playability. Even more critical is the result of fields that are unable to be used as we enter into the peak season of programming and use in the spring.
