Dog Classes at Jaycee Community Center
Dog – Basic Dog Obedience 101:
In this class we will teach you the importance of your role as leader and teach your dog the ability to have self-control. These two things together will allow your pup to learn to sit, down, wait, come, stay and to walk on a loose leash without pulling. In addition your dog will learn to wait at doorways, wait without lunging out of the car, sit for supper and leave it. Learning the proper body language and communicating clearly with your dog is also a focus. The result will be improved behavior in public as well as at home and a closer bond between you and your dog. Class is limited to 6 dogs so there is plenty of time for individual attention. This course is for dogs older than 3 months and all classes are held indoors.

Distraction Proofing for Your Dog:
Age: 16yrs and up.
This class is for dogs of any age that know the basics, but all your hard work seems useless when you walk out the door of your house. With all the tempting alternatives and distractions, your dog suddenly seems to know NOTHING. This class will improve your ability to control your dog in unexpected situations by regaining their focus. In addition we work on getting their attention WITHOUT food in your hands! By adding distractions and practicing commands off leash, your dog will improve self-control and make your public outings more fun. Part two will be held outdoors at 6 different locations.
