News posted Apr. 06, 2017 - 3:54 pm

Friday, April 21 Kids Nature Night
It’s Date Night for parents, and Turtle Night for kids! April is Turtle month at the Walnut Creek Wetland Park and we are going all out to explore and learn about turtles. We’ll learn what species live here in the wetland, have some cozy time with our own box turtle, Mr. T, and make our own “turtles” to race in the creek! Kids Nature Night runs from 6pm-8pm, and is appropriate for ages 6-12. The fee is $5. Kids should come dressed to get wet/messy (I suggest bringing a change of clothes). Register for barcode #199190 at RecLink or you can call the center at 919-996-2760 to register by phone.

Earth Day with The Lorax, Sunday, April 23, 2pm-3:30pm
We’re celebrating Earth Day on Sunday, April 23. We’ll read The Lorax, learn a little about recycling and conservation, and make a craft from recycled materials. This program is appropriate for ages 4 and up and the cost is $1 per family member. Register for barcode #200618 at RecLink or you can call the center at 919-996-2760 to register by phone.

Walnut Creek Wetland Park is located at 950 Peterson Street, at the corner of State and Peterson Streets, just a mile from downtown.
