Calling All Nature Nerds!

The Walnut Creek Wetland Center is hosting a nature film series beginning Tuesday, January 17 from 6:30-8 p.m. We know weekdays are hectic, so feel free to bring your dinner to eat during the movie (or make our popcorn your dinner!). January's feature film is "Raptor Force." Following the 1-hour film, we'll talk about raptors, listen to the calls of hawks and owls, and maybe even dissect an owl pellet or sort through the prey remains from a barred owl nesting box. Please register for course #199053. The cost is $1. This event is family friendly for children ages 5 and older. Register by calling the center at 919-996-2760 or online at RecLink. Please register by Sunday, January 15.

Coming February 14: Beavers, and March 14: Frogs: The Thin Green Line. Can't make it to the Film Fest? Check out our monthly themed displays, activities and make-and-take crafts. January features raptors; In February we focus on wetland rodents including groundhogs and beavers, and March we focus on amphibians (frogs, toads and salamanders) Check us out!

Walnut Creek Wetland Center is located at 950 Peterson Street, just a few blocks from downtown and across the street from Carnage Middle School. We hope to see you soon!
