Fire Prevention Week - What's Going On In Raleigh
Come and join the Raleigh Fire Department in our Fire Prevention Week Activities. We are excited to be joining fire departments nationwide in this year's theme of "It's Fire Prevention Week: Practice Your Escape Plan."
Come by and visit us at Crabtree Valley Mall on Friday, Oct. 5, through Sunday, Oct. 7, and take a fire prevention tour. Learn about fire safety and meet the newest addition to the Raleigh Fire Department, Freddie the Fire Engine.
On Oct. 7, stop by your local city fire station between the hours of 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. for our open house.
On Tuesday, Oct. 9, come on over to the Cameron Village Library at 7 p.m. and hear Mike Legeros tell us about the history of the Raleigh Fire Department. Mike does a masterful job of showing how Raleigh has moved from a sleepy capital city to the city it is now becoming.
From Thursday, Oct. 11, through Saturday, Oct. 13, visit us at Triangle Town Center between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. As always, our engine companies will be busy working with citizens of all ages in Fire Prevention Week activities. So, come on down and see us at one of our scheduled events, stop by your local station, or thank a firefighter when you see one. As always, be fire safe and don't forget to develop and practice your fire escape plan!
