THE CITY OF RALEIGH NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CHANGE THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RALEIGH

 

 

Notice is given that a joint meeting of the Raleigh City Council and Planning Commission is to be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Avery Upchurch Municipal Building.  Public hearings will be conducted to consider changing the City's zoning ordinance and map and to amend the City's Comprehensive Plan.

 

The City Council may rezone any of the properties described below or any part thereof to any zoning classification, which is more restrictive, including applicable overlay zoning districts.  It may also consider and adopt proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and City Code as amended in any manner, following public hearing.

 

NOTE:  Copies of all zoning map amendments and conditions for rezoning requests are on file with the Raleigh City Planning Department and /or can be accessed via the internet at www.raleighnc.gov/zoning.

ZONING CASES

Z-29-09 Buffaloe Rd., northwest quadrant of its intersection with Old Milburnie Rd., being several Wake Co. PINs.  Approx. 127.24 acres are requested by Buffaloe Forest LLC to amend conditions on the property zoned Residential-6 Conditional Use.  Proposed revisions would limit development on lots abutting adjacent properties to crawl space foundations and include additional stormwater regulations. Z-30-09 Falls of Neuse Rd., east side, south of its intersection with Falls Church Rd., being part of Wake County PIN 1716472665.  Approx. 5.11 acres are requested by the Raleigh Racquet Club, Inc., to be rezoned from Residential-4 to Residential-15 Conditional Use District.  Proposed conditions set r/w reimbursement rate; limit use, number of dwelling units, building height, & lighting fixture type; and offer cross-access. Z-31-09 Glenwood Ave., east side, north of itsintersection with W. Johnson St., being multiple Wake County PIN’s.  Approx. 1.00 acre is subject to a request by multiple petitioners to amend the Glenwood South Streetscape & Parking Plan (SSP-2-09) to modify height standards from a 40 ft. height with a 1/1 stepback up to a maximum height of 80 ft. to a 80 ft. maximum height with no required stepbacks.  (Staff Contact: Alysia Bailey-Taylor, 919-516-2650, alysia.bailey-taylor@ci.raleigh.nc.us)

 

Z-32-09 Falls of Neuse Rd., southwest quadrant of its intersection with Raven Ridge Rd., being Wake Co. PINs 1718984977 and 1718987751.  Approx. 9.87 acres are requested by the City of Raleigh to be rezoned from Wake County R-W80 to Rural Residential with Watershed Protection Overlay.
