The City of Raleigh provides transportation services for people with disabilities.  There are two levels of services.

  • Tier I service is available for permanent Raleigh residents who do not have a valid driver's license and are identified as a person with a physical or mental disability.

  • Tier II service is available to persons who qualify under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

PLEASE NOTE:  ALL ART TIER II TRIPS REQUESTS MADE ON HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS MUST BE LEFT ON THE 919-996-4087 VOICEMAIL FOR MONDAY AND NEXT DAY SERVICE.

Please Take Notice:

Effective July 1, 2009 ART Tier I tickets will increase in cost to $15.00 per book.

Effective August 3, 2009, Accessible Raleigh Transportation (ART) will require all ART Tier I and Tier II participants to be present when purchasing ART Tier I script or Tier II tickets.  A valid ART Tier I or II ID card must be presented when purchasing tickets.  This rule will apply at Moore Square Transit Mall Booth and at the collections office located at the Raleigh Municipal Building on 222 West Hargett Street.

All ART Customers will continue to be able to purchase ART Tier I script and ART Tier II tickets via the U.S. mail. The tickets must be mailed to the clients recorded address listed on their ART Tier I or II identification card.

It is our intent to make sure that ART Customers are provided the highest level of customer service by the City of Raleigh's Transit Program.

To better serve you the Accessible Raleigh Transportation Program (ART) has installed new routing and scheduling software that computerizes the trip reservation process! Please click here for more information.

***NOTICE***

Effective October 29, 2007, Accessible Raleigh Transportation will impose a $28.00 per ID limit on all Tier I and Tier II purchases and a $112.00 total transaction limit per person per day at the Moore Square Transit Mall ticket counter.  This limit is due to the physical inventory constraints of the Moore Square ticket booth.

All other transactions can be made on the 1st Floor at the City of Raleigh Avery C. Upchurch Municipal Building, 222 West Hargett St., from 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday -Friday.

It is our intent to make sure that ART Customers are provided the highest level of customer service by the City of Raleigh Public Works' Transit Program.

All questions regarding the new purchase procedure may be directed by phone to Mr. Richard Vinson, Senior Transportation Planner, City of Raleigh, at 919-996-4087 or via U.S. Mail at City of Raleigh, Public Works Department, P.O. Box 590, Raleigh, NC, 27602-0590.

Thank you for your continued support of the ART Program!
