Bicycle Program
The City of Raleigh in collaboration with the NC Department of Transportation Division of Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation developed a citywide bicycle plan. The Comprehensive Bicycle Transportation Plan was adopted by City Council in April 2009. The City's original bicycle plan was adopted in 1991 and subsequently incorporated in the City's Comprehensive Plan. This comprehensive bicycle transportation plan includes a thorough update of the original plan and proposes an integrated, seamless transportation framework to facilitate cycling as a viable transportation alternative throughout the City.
