Sewer Collection Maintenance
The Sewer Maintenance division provides maintenance and repair services to more than 2,300 miles of sewer lines located throughout the wastewater collection infrastructure system. The water and sewer lines for Garner, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Knightdale, Wendell and Zebulon are also operated and maintained from this division as the result of the recent water and sewer system mergers with these Towns.
Sewer easements provide City of Raleigh Public Utilities crews with access to do routine sewer maintenance and to make emergency sewer repairs. This access is required by the sewer collection permit issued by the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The City of Raleigh code prohibits the obstructing or covering of sewer easements.
