Park Bonds

On May 15, 2007, the Raleigh City Council voted unanimously to hold a referendum on a proposed $88.6 million bond issue for parks and greenway improvements. Projects in the 2007 bond program focus on greenway development, park land acquisition, facility upgrades, expansion of existing facilities, new park development and redevelopment of older park facilities.
The bond package will appear on the Oct. 9 ballot.

On Oct. 7, 2003, City of Raleigh citizens voted in favor of the Parks and Greenways Bond referendum.  This gave the city the authority to borrow up to $47.25 million for parks, greenway and recreation facilities.
