Small Group Discussions
Raleigh Comprehensive Plan Update
As part of the stakeholder outreach efforts for the Comprehensive Plan Update, the Department of City Planning is hosting a series of issue- and topic-focused small-group discussions, or roundtables, on the Comprehensive Plan. These meetings, of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours in length, share the following features:
-
The discussion participants are by invitation only; however, interested members of the public are welcome to attend. An invitee list of 10 to 20 persons is typically targeted.
-
The data, time, location and details of the meeting will be posted on this web page.
-
The Department of City Planning typically works with a partner organization to identify meeting participants and a location for the roundtable. These partners are non-City government organizations with particular expertise or contacts with the relevant experts/stakeholders.
-
Participants are provided with an overview sheet including the discussion questions in advance of the meeting.
-
City Planning staff will be responsible for facilitating the discussion and note taking.
-
Each meeting will generate a public record, to consist of the following: The meeting date, time, location, and sponsor; a list of participants, including City staff; the meeting overview sheet with discussion questions; and any and all comments made as part of the discussion. Comments will not be attributed to particular participants, however.
While some of these are being initiated by the City, many others are by invitation. Parties interested in scheduling a similar session targeting a particular interest group or topic area should email info@planningraleigh2030.com with a proposal.
