Express Review - Commercial Building Plans - FAQ

Q. What is the difference between Express and Regular Review?
A. During an Express Review all Design Professionals must attend the review to sign and seals the Plans as well as all Plans examiners such as Building, Plumbing, Mechanical and Fire.
Q. Which is faster?
A. The Express Review has a faster review cycle when plans are thorough and requirements are met as outlined in the Development Services Guide Express Guidelines.
Q. How much does the Express Review cost?
A. Building Plan Review with out Site Review: Cost: $800 1st hour; $200 additional per 15 minute increment; Re-review: $360 1st hour; $200 additional per 15-minute increment. May be rescheduled at any available time within 10 days following initial review; Building Plan Review and Site Review Included: Cost: $1,200/hr.; $800 /hr. - grading or preliminary site; Re-review: $1,200 /hr. Scheduled one week after the initial review; Cancellation/Rescheduling: After paperwork has been received by the express coordinator and the date is confirmed, there will be a charge to cancel and reschedule. A cancellation deadline is three business days prior to review date. A first time cancellation/re-scheduling fee of $250 will be charged, if made before the deadline (more than 3 days). A second time cancellation/rescheduling fee of $500 will be charged, if made before deadline (more than 3 business days). Canceling/rescheduling for a third time will eliminate the project from express review. After the deadline, a minimum one-hour fee will be charged. Failure to notify an express coordinator of cancellation will result in an automatic charge (minimum of one review hour) to contact person and/or firm. The Express Fees listed above are charged in addition to all standard permit fees .
Q. Is it possible to get an Express Review after normal office hours?
A. A nighttime Express review may be scheduled. The fee for nighttime Express is $1,600 per hour.
