Grading - FAQ
Q. Where can I apply for a grading permit?
A. Grading permits can be applied for at the Inspections Department Main Desk located in Suite 401 of the One Exchange Plaza. A staff member known as a “gatekeeper” will review the completed application and submittal package with you.
Q. What should I include in my submittal package?
A. The submittal guidelines are provided in the Grading process in the Development Services Guide.
Q. Do I really need to submit stormwater calculations?
A. Yes. Stormwater calculations are required for submittal. Please provide all the calculations you have, this will help us provide the most thorough review possible.
Q. How much are the fees associated with a grading permit?
A. Please refer to the Fee Schedule. The grading permit fees can be found on page 7. For any project that proposes to add impervious area, then the stormwater fee will be assessed based on the fee schedule.
Q. What is the review time for a grading permit?
A. The first review cycle for a grading permit takes seven (7) days; each additional review cycle required after the original takes three (3) days.
