Infrastructure Construction Drawings - FAQ


Q.  Why do I have to provide construction plans?

A.   Anyone who is developing inside the City of Raleigh and as part of their approval are required to construct some type of public improvement must receive construction plan approval prior to starting construction of their development or recording lots in a subdivision.

 

Q.  Where do I submit Private water and sewer extension projects?

A.  Public Works Department in the Transportation Services Division located at One Exchange Plaza Suite 304; Raleigh, NC 27601  Adjacent to 219 Fayetteville Street between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.

 

Q.  What is considered a complete submittal package?

A.   Four (4) sets of blue line drawings to be reviewed by Planning, Public Utilities, Stormwater Engineering and Transportation Services; Check List; Application; Water &/or Sewer Application, if applicable; Fees; Legal Documents.

 

Q.  May I submit applications and checklists separately from the plans?

A.   No; Applications, checklists, plans and fees are all required to come into the process together as a complete submittal package.

 

Q.  How long will this process take?

A.   Each review cycle takes ten (10) working days.

 

Q.  Are there any fees associated with the review process?

A.  Yes – The fee is $154.00 per submittal.
