Q. What permits can you apply for on line?
A. This system was designed to process electrical, mechanical, and plumbing permits for minor alterations and repairs only. You may not process building permits. This system is intended only for very simple "like for like" permitting and is not intended for alterations, fit-ups, and new construction. Example: Mechanical permit for changing out a residential water heater. Using this system for any other purpose than intended may result in the voiding of permits and penalities.
Q. Who may apply for permits on line?
A. Any contractor that has an active account with the City of Raleigh Inspections Department.
Q. How do you get the permit package?
A. The client processing an e-Permit will be instructed at the end of the process to print the permit package on their own printer. You can print as many copies as you like or even save it to your computer.
Q. What about the yellow inspection card for the field?
A. e-Permit inspection cards are included in the permit package printed by the client at the end of the permitting process. It is not necessary for these types of permits to have a yellow inspection card.
Q. What is the fee for processing permits electronically?
A. The minimum permit fee for each trade applies.
